Melissa Xiao

Hello! My name is Melissa Xiao and I am a grade 9 GATE student this year. Math is my passion, and has been since grade 6. In 2020, I was top two in Calgary in the Pascal math contest honor roll, and placed in the top 5% of the AMC 8 honor roll. In 2019, I ranked fifth in the Calgary Junior High Math Contest. In these upcoming lessons, I will teach four math concepts. I will be covering these topics so that you learn how math concepts are connected and how they work, not just memorizing formulas. We will start from the basic math concepts all the way up to the final concept. For example, in the third lesson about exponents, I will be explaining it from multiplication, to integer exponents, to fractional exponents, all the way up to radical expressions. I hope this course will encourage you to be more interested in math and to help you unlock your full potential.
